Food Poisoning Friday

So Renee has (she thinks) come down with food poisoning from a piece of moldy bread she accidentally ate the other day. She got out of work this evening only to go to final friday- the downtown art event that happens on the last friday of every month!

Today, she ate:
-waffle with honey
-fruit smoothie
-small quizno's veggie sub
-1 banana
-1/2 grilled cheese sandwich
-3ish spoonfuls of mushroom soup
-1 small piece of veggie pizza
-1 shot of espresso with creamer

(then we went out for "final friday" in old town- free food and drinks!)
-2 glasses of wine
-1 miller lite
-2 marshmallow/peanut butter bite-sized gooey things
-1 mini peanut butter cup
-1 mini chocolate chip cookie
-2 chocolate covered mini pretzels
-3 mini cream cheese and olive pinwheels
-1 tbsp of hummus with 1 cucumber and 1 pita chip
-2 small wedges of focaccia bread
-2 small cupcakes
-1 small donut

yeeahh.. I kinda ate too much at final friday


Today, Jessika ate:
-disgusting pork
-a few pieces of dried mango
-cup of coffee with milk and splenda

probably some more, but Jessika hasn't told Renee yet

Thursday at Bry and Nay's Sushi House!

So I tried to eat 1500 calories today, but I failed.

-16 ounces of oj (220 calories)
-1 bowl of special k with soy milk and honey (230 calories)
-10 carrots with hummus (100 calories?)
-piece of wheat bread with butter (150 calories)
-coffee with creamer (25 calories)
-clementine (35 calories)
-haribo gummies (180 calories)
-miso soup (45 calories)

[calories so far: 985]

This is where the calorie count gets fuzzy. I had allowed myself just over 500 calories for the rest, but I think I failed.

-1.5 chinese bean curd 'rolls'
-1 taro 'roll' (yikes.. i have no clue how many calories. alot? oops..)
-maybe 2 rolls of sushi filled with an assortment of avocado, carrots, cucumber, and low fat cream cheese (calorie estimation: 250 per roll, so around 500? maybe?)

TJ came over to eat with us, and I think he was in sushi heaven. Time for work!

I think Jessika ate:
-2 bowls of rice with tomato and roasted pork
-shanghainese veggies
-a banana
-another bowl of rice

No more meat for me! heeeheee...

-a delicious fruit smoothie! (with bananas, orange juice, lime juice, non-fat plain yogurt, and frozen fruit (like pineapples, mangoes, peaches and strawberries) [150 calories]
-2 strawberries [5 calories]
-1/2 grapefruit [50 calories]
-1 piece of wheat bread with homemade hummus spread on it [150 calories]
-20 carrots dipped in hummus [235 calories]
-a small plate of zucchini 'fettuccine' with marinara sauce [50 calories]
-1/2 cup of shredded carrots flavored with balsalmic vinegar and olive oil and other stuff [50 calories]
-10 almonds [85 calories]
-1 glass of oj [170 calories]
-a cup of chai tea with creamer [25 calories]
-4 white cheddar rice cakes [140 calories]
-a strawberry banana yogurt [190 calories]
-8 animal crackers [60 calories]

total calories: 1300

Jessika overloaded on rice today. oops. She had:

-rice with roast pork and chinese broccoli
-cup of coffee with milk
-more rice with roast pork and shanghainese veggies
-a sugar cookie
-a big bowl of rice with tomatoes and pork
-serving of lettuce and broccoli
-a bite of steamed fish with soy sauce

Fat Tuesday!

In honor of Fat Tuesday, Renee ate 3/4 of a box of wheat thins! Unintentionally, though.. honestly.. I was just nibbling and nibbling and all of a sudden there were no more! Oops....

Food diary for today:

- 1 bowl of special k with honey and soy milk
- 1 glass of oj
- 2 clementines
- 1 handful of macadamia nuts
- 1 handful of almonds
- 3/4 of a box of reduced fat wheat thins :(
- 1 bowl of gazpacho soup with 1 piece of wheat toast
- 1 black bean, avocado, green pepper, and light mayo wheat bread sandwich
- 1 cup of chai tea
- 5 french fries (they were sitting on the counter.. I couldn't help it!)

healthy?? obviously the wheat thins and french fries weren't.. but everything else wasn't bad, right? hmph...

Yes yes Renee, oops is the key to forgetting to eat healthy. Just kidding. Yeah, wheat thins are so addicting. Jessika had authentic Vietnamese food tonight. Perhaps she will take Renee to Bun when she comes to visit.

Monday Madness!

Today, Renee ate:

a bowl of butternut squash soup with roasted garlic and sauteed onions
a large cup of coffee sweetened with 2 packets of sugar and 2 andes mints
a cup of chai tea
a bowl of shredded carrots with balsalmic vinegar and some other stuff that bryan put in it
a bowl of special k with honey and soy milk
a banana nut bread cliff bar
a few handfuls of reduced fat wheat thins
a small bowl of spaghetti with marinara sauce
a few chunks of pineapple
2 bites of bryan's polenta with marinara sauce

So today was my 1st day of super healthy week.. did I do ok?

Super healthy week huh? Sounds pretty healthy to me.... except those andes mints hehe. Jessika went to Town for Rainbow's birthday dinner (it's still restaurant week). It really wasn't that great. Today she had:

-udon with 2 pieces of soy sauce chicken
-3/4 of a peanut butter sandwich
-a cranberry pecan roll with butter
-a regular roll with butter
-a tiny slice of cured salmon with some greens
-hawaiian heart of palm soup with (bitter) shrimp tempura rocks
-monkfish with onions in a paprika sauce
-a few bites of coffee, vanilla and caramel ice cream
-a red fruit jelly with caramel sauce

Academy Award Sunday!

Today, Renee ate:

1 bowl of special k with soy milk and honey
1 grapefruit
1/2 whole wheat bagel with low fat garden vegetable cream cheese
4 andes mints
1/2 cup of raspberry lemonade
2 haribo gummies
1 chocolate valentines heart
1 cup of chai tea
1 cup of orange juice
2 bites of steamed vegetables
1 big bowl of congee
1 waffle sandwich (2 toasted strawberry waffles stuffed with 1 scrambled egg and a slice of cheese, topped in maple syrup.. it was SO delicious!)
1 big handful of almonds

(we went to see Coraline in 3D! and I ate...)
-10 more haribo gummies :) oops..

Boothie says I have to eat healthy for the next week because supposedly I will have to eat lots of unhealthy foods for my birthday (so he says), so starting tomorrow.. it's healthy time! We'll see how I do... lol

-a shakeshack burger
-some cheese fries
-an arnold palmer- half iced tea half lemonade

Women's Fair Saturday!

Today, Renee dragged Bryan to the Women's Fair after 'group power'!

She ate:
-1 mango, banana, and pineapple fruit smoothie
-1 wheat bagel with peanut butter and jelly
-half a cup of chopped fresh pineapple
-a chunk of the nut & date bar (approx 2x2 inch square)
-1/2 chocolate chip cookie
-5 pretzel sticks dipped in different dips
-6 girlscout cookies (3 peanut butter patties and 3 caramel delights)
-a large bowl of congee topped with a little bit of spicy vegetarian chili
-1 cup of coffee with cream
-1 cup of tea with cream

i think that's it?

at work, we're adding some new dishes to the menu on Monday, so I "had" to try
-1 2-bite-sized piece of the new lasagna roll appetizer
-1 piece of the fried something dessert.. kinda like a fried dough wedge that you dip in chocolate
-1 small piece of birthday cake (for february birthdays- not for the menu)
-2 andes mints

oh, and add a large glass of orange juice with malibu and a miller high life to last night :)

Mmmm congee! Jessika had:

-congee! with seafood and roasted meats
-a can of coke
-a slice of pizza
-ethiopian food (rare ground meat, ethiopian bread made with chick peas, some garlic lentil sauce)
-a glass of honey wine
-a swedish fish martini (didn't taste like any swedish fish i ever had)

-1/2 wheat bagel with low fat garden vegetable cream cheese
-2 animal crackers
-2 haribo gummies (only two!)
-1 bite of bryan's peanut butter and honey bagel
-2 bites of the nut & date bars that bryan made

now I'm off to work!

Mad at the Wii Thursday >:o !

Jessika thinks Renee and her haribo gummies are funny.... and it's almost peep season again! If it makes Renee feel any better, Jessika's weight has been stagnant for awhile too.... Today Jessika had:

-1.5 waffles with a wee bit of raspberry jam
-half a cup of tea with milk
-half a cup of coffee with milk
-white rice with soy sauce chicken and roast pork (too salty and not very good)
-a few sips of egg drop soup
-a bite of turnip cake with hoisin sauce
-a few bites of banana bread
-half of a porter house steak with balsamic vinegrette
-serving of mash potatoes
-a few bites each of: chinese broccoli, bok coy and broccoli
-an orange

Renee got on the Wii fit today, and it said that she weighed more than ever before! Meaning now that instead of having to lose 10 lbs to reach her goal, she must lose 11! (at least I've only gained a pound.. its still frustrating though!) She must be doing something wrong, because despite taking 2 workout classes a week, running between 1-3 miles 6 days a week, and working a very walking-oriented job, she ISN'T LOSING WEIGHT!

...maybe she should stop eating haribo gummies...

speaking of which, today Renee ate:

11 haribo gummies :)
1 cheese omlet
1/2 portion of hashbrowns
1.5 pieces of buttered toast
1 big bowl of special k with soy milk and a splash of honey

Today, Bryan went on a raw food cooking spree, therefore, Renee ate:

-zucchini spaghetti with raw marinara sauce (everything made from raw fruits and veggies)
-2 small raw pancakes (made from flax meal)

-4 chocolate valentines heart candies
-3 haribo gummies
-1 toasted wheat sandwich filled with avocado, black beans, and green peppers
-1/2 glass of raspberry lemonade
-2 cups of tea
-small handful of macadamia nuts

-3 macadamia nuts
-1 cup of black coffee

happy valentines day!

Renee ate waaaaay tooooo muuuuch... and its only 1pm! But she's done eating, cause she has to work at 3.

Renee ate:
(breakfast in bed from bryan!)

-1/2 clementine
(1 hour of group power, and ran 1 mile!, then breakfast at "The Good Egg")
-1 cinnamon roll (enormous! about 5 inches across..but delicious! and I ate the whole thing!)
-1 buttered english muffin
-maybe 8-10 bites of roasted potatoes
-a veggie fritata with eggs, veggies, cheese, salsa, and sour cream
(then we went to the health food store for their food fair.. shoulda done that before going out to eat! It was no fun having to eat more food when we were so full)

-1 tiny bite of gluten free chocolate cake
-2 chips with hummus dip
-1 gummy made with fish oil (oops, not vegetarian- the guy didn't tell me what it was until after i ate it)

-2 pieces of thinly sliced beef

-3 pieces of taro
-serving of vermicelli noodles
-3ish fish balls
-a few bites of chinese veggies

Thank effin god it's Friday

Jessika had a long week and ate alot today.

-Half a piece of toast with butter
-bowl of leftover fried rice, asparagus, and snow peas.
-A sip of tea with milk, then she realized there was a chunk of something in it. She thought it was bread but in fact it was bad milk with chunks, she then gagged and didn't drink anymore. (this was while driving to the train station)
-Mozzarella, tomato and basil on toasted foccacia
-a free piece of some dessert bar- kind of like a blondie with chocolate and coconut.
-2 cups of coffee with equal and whole milk (milk that hadn't gone bad)
-a banana
-a chocolate chip cookie
-a piece and a half (like 7 oz) of roast pork
-a scoop of mash potatoes
-some shanghainese veggies
-approx 2 glasses of merlot

oops? i ate too much and was too tired to work out.

Renee ate:

1 bowl of cereal
1 piece of pita bread with hummus
approx. 5 pieces of sushi with some rice and avocado
1 grapefruit
3 waffles with maple syrup
6 pieces of haribo grapefruit gummy candies
1 piece of portabello mushroom ravioli from olive garden
1 sip of a strawberry siciliano (a strawberry banana alcoholic drink from o.g.)

-1/2 cup of the 'moose munch' that I started yesterday (that was the name of the chocolate/gingerbread popcorn stuff)
-1 huevos rancheros burrito (eggs, black beans, and salsa in a tortilla)
-1 bowl of special k with soy milk
-1 packet of fruit snacks
-2 pieces of bread with butter and danish chocolate
-2 pieces of dried mango
-1 cup of chai tea with creamer

Jessika had a crazy long day, working all day then doing a Bento presentation at night. She must work out tomorrow. Today she had:

-a snapple iced tea
-2 pretzels
-a sugar cookie
-leftover steak from Wolfgang's with mushrooms, onions and mashed potatoes

Rainy Tuesday

Seems like Renee had a lot of liquid today.... Jessika had:

-half a pack of ramen with asparagus and steak
-box of soymilk
-tall nonfat caramel macchiato
-a chocolate chip cookie
Dinner at Atria (I really really really liked this place, it's only a month old and across the street from the MOMA)
-Baguette sticks with yogurt, lemon juice and herb spread
-Bumble cocktail (gin, blackberry juice, lime juice and mint, ah the world of great mixologists)
-Cured Sea Trout- with lotus root chips, sesame seeds and curry sauce. (tasted kinda of like smoked salmon)
-Braised Flatiron steak- slow cooked to perfection- with brussel sprouts, riebele (a creamy pasta) and cab sauv jus
-warm caramel apples with cider-walnut cake & granny smith sorbet. mmm

twas delish, glad I didn't really eat lunch and saved up for din din! (I think I ate too much)

Today, Renee ate:

1 large homemade smoothie
1/2 clementine
1 bowl of cinnamon and pecan special k cereal with soy milk
2 cups of chai tea
1 peanut butter and honey sandwich on wheat bread
1 starbucks caffe vanilla frappucino
4 andes mints
8 ounces of raspberry lemonade
2 pieces of leftover cheese pizza
1 piece of bread with butter and danish chocolate
1 cup of milk chocolate and gingerbread popcorn
1/4 of a "gorilla sandwich"

I feel like I ate too much. Did I? I went to "group power" this morning for 1 hour, ran 1 mile, and worked for 5 and 1/2 hours.

superlong mondays

Jessika might start eating more cereal when it's warmer..... today she had:

-bowl of mash potatoes and a dash of romano cheese
-a 'chicken butt' bun (with coconut and sugar, no chicken!)
-a bottle of snapple iced tea and lemonade
-a chocolate chip cookie
-a mini bagel with guacamole and a hamburger
-a few pieces of broccoli
-2 onion rings with ketchup
-a few shoestring fries
-a few tostitoes


Jessika didn't eat much yesterday, Renee thinks. Renee ate:

*1 bowl of special k with soy milk (renee still likes cereal even though its cold)
*1 piece of bread with butter and honey
*1 grapefruit
*1 fruit smoothie
*1 veggie corn dog
*1 large cup of coffee with half&half and 2 andes mints melted into it
*3 pieces of homemade margherita pizza
*1/2 of a gorilla sandwich! (basically a hollowed out cucumber filled with tons of stuff like apples, bananas, craisins, nuts, celery, green peppers, herbs, and tons of other stuff that I can't remember.. bryan made it!)
*5 beers at .75 cent beer night!

extremely warm sunday!

Jessika spent the entire early afternoon baking! woohoo. Today she's had:

-an orange
-2 star shaped sugar cookies (from amy's sugar cookie mix from last christmas)
-2 chocolate chip cookies
-a piece of brownie with pecans
-some udon in chicken broth with broccoli and garlic
-a tiny slice of strawberry cake with whipped cream as frosting

family hot pot tonight! (which means it's extremely hard to keep track of what's eaten, so here's a guesstimate):
-fish balls
-beef balls
-a few thin slices of pork
-some baby bok choy
-some water crest
-some chinese cabbage
-lots of taro
-some tripe aka cow stomach
-a few peanuts
-a few bites of sweet tofu
-a few bites of purple (!) yam
-a few bites of salmon

yeah, def ate too much today. what do you think of the special k diet?

I think special k diet is not that great, cause it says eat 2 bowls of special k and then dinner, and if you're still hungry after 2 bowls of special k, you'll gorge at dinner, which is when you should eat your lightest meal. But that's just my opinion.

Yesterday, Renee ate alot!

-1 croissant with pb&j
-1 big bowl of special k with soy milk
-1 bagel with garden vegetable cream cheese
-maybe 5 olive garden mints
-half a glass of raspberry lemonade
-1 olive garden breadstick

Saturday

Jessika accidentally posted today's food in yesterday's blog. oops. Anyway:

Renee only eats 1500 calories per day? That doesn't seem like alot. Today Jessika had:

-cup of coffee with milk
-spinach and mushroom omelet
-slice of wheat toast with butter and strawberry jam
-half a slice of white toast with butter
-2 pieces of chocolate covered toffee with nuts on top
-a soft caramel
-2 pieces of dried mango
-some broccoli seasoned with ginger
-mash potatoes!
-a few slices of london broil steak with avocado
-a glass of red wine

Renee ate:

1 bowl of cereal (off-brand special k with soy milk)
piece of wheat bread with butter and honey
fruit smoothie
vegetarian corn dog
1/2 bagel with cream cheese
a few baked tostidos
a few slices of dried mango
1 banana split! mmm...
1 cup of chai tea with creamer

Chipotle has 900 calories?!

Today, Renee ate:

-1/2 bagel with cream cheese (250 calories)
-1 fresh berry and banana smoothie (150 calories)
-2 bananas (200 calories)
- 1 bowl of special k and honey nut cheerios with soy milk (200 calories)
-1 cup of chai tea with creamer (20 calories)
-1.5 squares of ghiradelli chocolate with hazelnuts (80 calories)
-1/2 chipotle burrito (with black beans, rice, guacamole, and salsa) (450 calories?!?!? according to google :-/)
-1 coffee with milk (100 calories)
-2 andes mints (50 calories)
-2 bites of bryan's pizza (50 calories?)

Total: 1550. I don't think I like counting calories. I focus too much on the calories and less on what I'm eating. Maybe I'll stop, and just eat "healthy".

Made 85$ at work tonight! Whee!

Jessika ate:
-Rice with Chinese cabbage and pork
-a few sips of orange juice
-a cup of coffee
-a grande nonfat caramel macchiat0
-a few fried plantains
-a cohuana (hypnotic, malibu, and something else)

Jessika had a even worse day today and was on the verge of tears by 2pm. But yeah, 2 glasses of sangria and a glass of sauvingnon blanc with dinner helped.

Today she had:
-udon in wintermelon soup with pork
-piece of lasagna
-a few pieces of fried calamari
-mini pitcher of peach sangria
-1/3 roast chicken
-a bite of penne alla vodka
-yellow rice with beans

Renee has eaten:
-a bowl of special k with soy milk (250 calories)
-blue sky natural orange cream soda (160 calories)
-dried and sweetened mango (150 calories)
-huevos rancheros burrito! 1/2 cup of black beans, 2 eggs, and salsa (380 calories)
-1 small nectarine (50 calories)
-chai tea with creamer (20 calories)
-1/2 tortilla plus a few baked tostidos (130 calories)
-1/2 french toast flavored bagel with peanut butter, honey, and 1/3 of a banana (280 calories)
-1 mini marshmallow (2.5 calories. Bryan made me count it)
-half a cup of cilantro lime brown rice with black beans, and a bite of bryan's (2nd) huevos rancheros burrito (150 calories)

total calories for the day so far, 1572.5

Ate too much yesterday!

Jessika had a really stressful 10 hour workday and 3 hour commute, but then she came home and ran 2 miles and feels better.

Today, she's had:
-bowl of rice with pork sausage
-glass of fresh squeezed orange juice
-piece of toast with butter
-bowl of green squash soup
-half a bowl of rice
-2 bites of fish
-2 pieces of chinese broccoli (and she only ate 2 pieces because it kinda tasted like fish)


So yesterday, Renee's "healthy tuesday" kinda backfired. Oops! She's decided to keep track of calories for a while now! And drink 3 liters of water a day. And not eat after 7pm when she can help it! (for example, tonight she's going to Sal's Japanese Steakhouse for Jerry's birthday- at 8pm- so she will be forced to eat after 7pm, obviously.)

So far, she has eaten:
-leftover calzone from Old Chicago, estimated 350 calories
-1 cup of chai tea with a splash of creamer, 20 calories
-1 cup of espresso with creamer, 20 calories
-1 banana, 100 calories
-1 grapefruit, 100 calories
-tostidos with salsa and bean dip, 200 calories
-2 bites of bryan's yogurt with honey, 20 calories
-brown cow maple yogurt (all but 2 bites for bryan), 150 calories
-1 piece of dried mango with sugar, 30 calories
-1 bite of bryan's larabar (ginger flavored.. sooo tasty!), 20 calories

I allotted about 800 calories for my dinner at the hibachi grill, where I ate
-5 pieces of raddish, carrott, and cucumber sushi dipped in soy sauce
-maybe 10 bites of bryan's fried rice
-a few bites of sauteed vegetables
-2 ish spoonfuls of soup with I realized was made from beef broth so I gave the rest to bryan
-1 small salad with the orange colored dressing (what kind of dressing is that? ginger? carrott?)
-1 scoop of orange sorbet
-1 mixed drink made of sugary juices and liquors

I think it was more than 800 calories. What do you think?

I also ran 2 miles at the gym, stair stepped for 20 minutes, and elipticized for 20 minutes. That's about an hour of cardio! Whee for meee!

Healthy Tuesday

Jessika had:

-bowl of rice in ginseng soup
-2 pieces of oat bran bread with butter
-cup of english tea with milk
-cup of mandarin orange tea
-a banana
-a few bites of a cranberry apple fruit bar
-pieces of lasagna made by daddy-o!
-some string beans and shanghainese veggies
-a few pieces of pork sausage
-a few pieces of pomelo
-some freshly made guac with tostitoes

Renee has decided to start eating healthier as of today. Because she has failed recently.

So far, Renee has eaten:

1 bowl of special k with soy milk
1 tortilla filled with scrambled eggs, black beans, salsa, and a little bit of cheese (mmm so tasty!)
2 cups of chai tea with a splash of french vanilla coffee creamer
1 everything bagel with low fat garden vegetable cream cheese
1/2 of a french toast flavored bagel with peanut butter, honey, and bananas on it (tasted like dessert!!!)
some baked tostidos with guacamole
a bite of bryan's vegetable stew that he made for the 2nd day in a row
1 cup of grape juice
2 fruit leathers
2 peppermint hershey's kisses

hmm.. not as healthy as I would have liked.

ahh i fail. we went to old chicago at 11pm, and i got ate fooooods.
-3/4 of a spinach, artichoke, tomato, and cheese calzone
-most of a "little big cookie".. basically a hot cookie with ice cream.. about 4 inches in diameter

tomorrow i be healthy?

Groundhog Monday

My daddy says that there were two groundhogs, one in PA and one in Staten Island. They had different verdicts apparently and the one in Staten Island bit Mayor Bloomberg.

On Monday, Jessika had:
-some rice with black beans n spare ribs. (you should have seen the look the lady in front of my gave me when I opened my container on the train)
-a banana
-a cup of coffee
-some broccoli
-an orange
-a small serving of white rice
and I think that's it....

Today Renee had cramps, and therefore, ate a lot.

She ate:
1/2 grapefruit
1 caramel frappuccino from starbucks
3/4 of a small red velvet cupcake from starbucks
1 everything bagel
1 bowl of vegetable stew that bryan made
3/4 of a bar of cadbury's chocolate (milk chocolate toffee filled)
1 piece of toast with melted cheese
1/4 of bryan's peanut butter and jelly sandwich
1 snickerdoodle cookie
5 or 6 baked tostidos with salsa
1 nectarine
1 andes mint at work
1 pomegranite fruit leather

Superbowl Sunday

Jessika was distracted and lazy... but now I'm back. And firefox decided to crash after I wrote this entry.... greeeat. Here's I go again:

-An orange
-a bowl of ziti with meat sauce
-a few pieces of pita with red pepper hummus (ew red pepper)
-some rotini with tomatoes and romano cheese
-a few tostitoes and 7 layer dip
-2 hot chicken wings
-a few pieces of breaded chicken nuggets
-1/3 a potato skin with broccoli and cheese
-some nachoes with beans and meat

Supposedly, Superbowl Sunday is the biggest (or 2nd biggest) eating day of the year.

Renee has successfully completed her 3 weeks sugar diet as of today!

Renee is also wondering why Jessika has not been updating.

Today, Renee ate:

1 snickerdoodle cookie
3 squares of toffee filled chocolate
1 fruit smoothie
approx. 20 half pretzel, half cheese crackers
3 andes mints from work
1 small bowl of rice with vegetables
2 glasses of grape juice
lots of tostidos and potato chips with dip
some veggies with dip
approximately 5 airheads
and 3 beers
